hey don’t knock ‘em, I had one. the ‘85-87 6.9s were pretty damn durable, akin to the AMC straight 6. They’ll start burning oil at about 175,000 miles due to cylinder taper/blow-by, but they’ll run another 200,000 miles so long as you don’t starve ‘em of oil.
